It enables practitioners to understand the convergence of learning and performance in the future workplace and to maintain the delicate balance between the two. It also ranks the 52 competencies identified for success in the workplace learning and performance (WLP) field by various types of demographic groups, including training and development professionals, organization development practitioners, and human resource administrators. In addition, the book makes statistical comparisons between the responses of people at all levels and compares the responses of "expert" WLP professionals and seasoned line managers. The competencies are sorted into six competency groupings and are then compared to the seven roles the study established for the WLP profession.
