This book describes an information architecture designed to achieve intellectual control over large-scale, modular, integrated, fault-tolerant systems that leverage Semantic Web Services for automated analysis and design support during the engineering process. The technology independence of the information architecture reduces risk and saves money by preventing unknown project derailments.The Artificial Intelligence Design Framework (AIDF) developed for NASA provides facilities for 20 modules in the engine block with emphasis on modularity, scalability, reconfigurability, and service integration capability.
