Shorttitle: The monograph presents comprehensive work on Bay of Bengal crustal studies. The BOB crust experienced deformation during its northward drift and collision with Asia resulting in a very complex configuration. Loading of sediment from major perennial rivers of east coast of India added to the complexity of the BOB crustal structure. In this book an attempt has been made to delineate the crustal structure of the Bay of Bengal. The total area covered under this study is from 6 N to 20 N latitude and 80 E to 96 E longitudes in the BOB. Data along 15 magnetic and 6 gravity transects were considered for modeling the BOB crust. The entire work is divided into seven chapters. The introductory topics review the existing literature regarding the evolution, setup of the Bay of Bengal ocean basin.
