Dr.Chalapati’s work explored and analysed the internationalisation of higher education in Thailand.Focusing upon case studies of English- medium postgraduate business degree programs offered by leading Thai universities, she mapped the policy, institutional and curriculum dimensions of rapid globalisation. Her research recognized the advantages of local Thai alternatives to international degree programs offered by overseas universities but stressed that the benefits of Thai international programs had yet to be fully realized. She calls for a thorough rethinking of the meaning of international educationin the Thai context both in theory and in practice. Policy makers, education managers and educators must acknowledge the importance of cultural knowledge in curriculum design and classroom teaching.
