This book deals with novel scientific and technology research in Pattern Recognition and Applications. It presents a selection of papers that summarises the main research activities in these areas developed in Spanish research centres. The book is supported by the "Asociacion Espanola de Reconocimiento de Formas y Analisis de Imagenes" (AERFAI), associated to the International Pattern Recognition Association (IAPR).
