Nano-Photonics and the Clausius–Mossotti Relation

The CM relation that relates the macroscopic quantity with the microscopic property of the material by using the most widespread approximation of the local field as a bridge is one of the wonderful tool in the EMA. The different approaches to derive this relation involve different models and assumptions. We have closely examined three ways of deriving the relation based on different models. Attempt has been made to see the effect of the distribution of the dipoles on the internal field. More specifically, we investigated the statistics of the dipole field for a system of dipoles having equal dipole moments and the same direction.
