Despite the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, there is a continuing growth in the size and number of skyscrapers being built around the world. This book looks at 29 of the most recent of these, from the perspective of both their architecture and their engineering. The author explains the structural principles behind the creation of tall buildings and the ways in which they are designed to withstand earthquakes, high winds and fire.
