This book examines the role of globalization and local factors in the increase of contemporary slavery and possible ways forward in legislation, policy-making, NGO campaigns and research. Specific proposals for improvement of international and national law as well as victim support measures are discussed and perspectives on economic development and social change are evaluated for their use in combating slavery.
