This book gives an overview on the process of becoming a parent after infertility and assisted reproductive treatment (ART). Infertility is a deeply wounding experience, and couples who attend ART have to go through a long-lasting procedure of investigations and treatments with unsure results. Not surprisingly, psychological distress is commonly experienced by these couples. This is of special importance, as the early environment of the baby consists of the mother and the father and their relationship with each other. Their well-being is of utmost importance for the development of a safe and stable relational environment for the baby to grow up.
